• Do you service Heat Exchangers from manufacturers other than Alfa Laval (Non-OEM)?

  Yes, TESCO Engineering Saudi provides services. We have the capability, spare parts supply chain, and engineering expertise to service, regasket, and refurbish Plate Heat Exchangers (PHE) from all major brands, including Tranter, GEA, APV, Sondex, and others, ensuring original equipment performance standards

• What technology do you use to detect micro-leaks that are invisible to the naked eye?

  We utilize advanced Helium Leak Detection systems. This method allows us to detect extremely small pinholes and fatigue cracks in heat exchanger plates that standard dye-penetrant or hydrostatic tests might miss, preventing cross-contamination of your fluids.

• Can Retubing of Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers be performed on-site, or must it be done in a workshop?

  We offer flexible solutions based on the scope of work. While full bundle fabrication is usually done in our workshop for precision, we offer on-site retubing and partial repair services to minimize downtime and eliminate the logistical costs of transporting heavy equipment.

• What is the difference between Chemical Cleaning (CIP) and High-Pressure Hydro-Jetting?

  CIP (Cleaning-In-Place) uses circulating chemical solvents to dissolve scale and fouling without dismantling the unit, ideal for regular maintenance. Hydro-Jetting involves dismantling the unit and using high-pressure water to mechanically remove stubborn, hard deposits (like calcification or coke) that chemicals cannot dissolve. We recommend the best method based on your specific fouling type.

• Do you offer Reverse Engineering for obsolete heat exchangers without technical drawings?

  Yes. Our engineering team can perform Reverse Engineering on aging or obsolete units. We measure the physical components, analyze material composition, and generate new CAD drawings to fabricate exact replacements or improved tube bundles/plate packs, even if original documentation is lost

• Are your fabrication and repair processes compliant with ASME standards?

  Absolutely. TESCO Engineering Saudi adheres to strict international standards. Our fabrication and repair procedures comply with ASME Section VIII Div 1 and TEMA (Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association) standards to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

• How quickly can you mobilize for an emergency heat exchanger breakdown?

  We understand that downtime costs money. For critical emergencies within Saudi Arabia, we have a Rapid Response Team capable of mobilizing quickly with necessary tooling and gasket stocks to assess and commence repairs immediately.

• Do you provide thermal design and simulation (CFD) for new process requirements?

  Yes. Beyond repairs, we offer thermal engineering services. We use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and thermal sizing software to validate designs or propose upgrades to your current heat exchangers, ensuring they meet new capacity or efficiency requirements.

• What types of gasket materials do you keep in stock for Plate Heat Exchangers?

  We maintain a stock of common and specialized gasket materials to suit various chemical and temperature environments, including NBR (Nitrile), EPDM, and Viton (FKM). We ensure the gasket material is perfectly compatible with your process fluid to prevent swelling or degradation.

• What pressure testing protocols do you follow after reassembly?

  Safety is paramount. Every heat exchanger we service undergoes a rigorous Hydrostatic Pressure Test, typically at 1.3 to 1.5 times the design pressure (or as per specific client/API requirements), to guarantee structural integrity and leak-free operation before commissioning.
