Problem Statement

The Solid Bowl Screen Centrifuge, a Single-Line Equipment in the production line at Petrochemical Plant, experienced Multiple Mechanical Seal Failures, and High Vibration leading to Operational Inefficiencies and Potential Contamination Risks.

Upon inspection, extensive wear on the Rotor and severe damage to the seal landing area were identified, necessitating urgent refurbishment and component replacement to restore the unit to optimal functionality.

Scope of Work

Equipment Handling & Inspection:

  • Securely transported the centrifuge to the Service Facility, following Strict Handling Procedures.
  • Dismantled the unit with specialized tools to Prevent Further Damage.
  • Removed residual phenol and conducted a Thorough Decontamination Process.
  • Performed a Detailed Assessment and Documented All Findings.

Component Refurbishment & Overhaul:

  • Refurbished the damaged Rotor, ensuring dimensional accuracy and balance.
  • Addressed severe damage in the seal landing area, requiring precision machining.
  • Refurbished & Installed 5 heavy-duty Centrifuge Seals engineered to withstand operational stresses.
  • Conducted a full overhaul, including bearing and lubrication system inspection, to restore OEM specifications.
